Desaru is back on board again! If you haven’t read our first Desaru comparison, you can check it out HERE! This time we aren’t comparing any other Desaru deals. So why Desaru again? Well, the price seems too good to pass! S$60 for a 1 night stay in 1 bedroom suite, breakfast for 2, welcome drink and entrance ticket to the water theme park for 2! This means that each person will only need to pay $60 / 2 = S$30!? That’s relatively cheap if you ask me, but what’s the catch then? A big thanks to our reader “Vincent” for informing us of the change. Apparently, the deal has now been changed to $60/pax for a 1 night stay in 1 bedroom suite, breakfast, welcome drink and entrance ticket to the water theme park. A minimum of 2 will be required to travel, this brings the amount to $60 * 2 = $120 for 2 pax!
The first thing you have to take note is that the price excludes transportation. The ideal situation would be if you have your own form of transport. With the long-awaited opening of the Senai-Desaru Expressway, it only takes 30 minutes to get to Desaru from Johor Bahru. However, if you lack your own transportation, have no fear! There is always the bus, but the route is longer and slightly more complicated. You can read more from Wikitravel HERE. From experience, the time taken from Johor Bahru to Desaru via bus is usually less than an hour.
Alright, so apart from the transport is there any other thing that you have to be aware of? Do take note that the travel period is between 2nd Dec 2011 to 29th Feb 2012. However, there is a surcharge of $32/room/night from 2nd to 22nd December 2011 due to the school holidays, and $55/room/night from 23rd December 2011 to 2nd January 2012 and 21st to 25th January 2012. So let’s just do a price comparison on 3 separate dates for the 3 different periods with CompareHotel.com.sg. The 3 dates that we will be taking are 17th to 18th December 2011, 24th to 25th December 2011 and 4th to 5th February 2012. Please remember that prices are subject to change without prior notice.
WHAT ADL SAYS:
Well, however way you see it, you still save money by purchasing this deal! Hence, if you’re looking for a short getaway from now to end of February, then this deal will be worth it!
Well, as you can see, you would only save money if you intend to go during the school holiday period. Other than that period, it seems that agoda.com offers a more affordable rate. Do take note that the surcharges are all the way till 25 January 2012. Hence, we will recommend you to head over in February via agoda.com for the best price. However, if you’re in need of a holiday before the year ends, it would be a better choice to purchase this deal, but do try to avoid 23rd December onward.
Please note that from November to February is also the monsoon period in Desaru. It may or may not rain, but the waves are normally rougher during this period. Chances are that water sports will not be allowed at all. Thankfully, this deal includes entrance to the water theme park, so at least you get to do some water activities. Apart from that, you can always try the excursions to see the fireflies, fruit farm and ostrich farm. Have you guys been to Desaru before? Is December a good time to pay a visit? ![[MEGA DEAL LEAK]! Did You Say FREE Mexican Drumlets!? FREE!?](http://alldealsleak.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/BK-Mexican-Drumlets.jpg)

From the deals.com.sg link, it’s actually $60 per pax, not $60 for 2pax! Did u actually check with the travel vendor?
I Called AX Exotic Travels and they confirmed that it’s $60 per pax.
So from your calculation above, it’s cheaper to buy from Agoda.com
Hi Vincent,
Thank you so much for the update! There was some confusion as on the day the article was wrote, the deal was stated for 2 pax. Hence, the deal title. However, there seems to be a change in the title of the deal now. On behalf of the ADL team, I sincerely apologise for the mistake to you and all other readers that caused any misunderstanding or inconvenience. I’ve called to verify with them again and yes, it is per pax now. We truly appreciate the tip off and would like to thank you. Kindly send us an email at info@alldealsleak.com as we would like to give you some free vouchers!
In the meantime, we will edit and update our post for all readers.
Regards,
ADL-CrackerJack
