Here you go… This Japanese Buffet deal is offered by Voucherlicious in collaboration with Kitagawa Japanese Restaurant. Before we start, we wish to point out one thing about this deal. That is, even though this deal is stated as a Ala-Carte eat all you can buffet, there is actually a one order limit per dish per voucher. That means to say, for a dish on the menu, one person can only order it once. This is definitely unlike other normal buffet whereby one can eat any one dish more than once. Also, do note that no drinks are included in this deal except for a 1 free glass of Italian Cocktail.
Now, lets proceed to do the price check for this deal.
ADL called up the restaurant and found out that Kitagawa just started doing buffet on 1st Jan 2012. In the past, the restaurant itself does not offer any buffet. Same thing, there is a one order limit per dish per paying customer, and no drinks are included in the buffet (except for japanese green tea). The prices for the buffet at Kitagawa is stated below.
Note:
Children above 10 years old will have to pay Adult price.
The restaurant only charges 7% GST.
While talking to the staff over the phone, ADL found out that there is currently no ongoing credit card promotion. However, there is a special in house promotion. Should one make a Kitagawa Membership card (this card can be made at the restaurant’s cashier counter) which costs $10, one will be entitled to a 20% discount off total bill. The membership card is valid for one year, and it offers 20% discount to drinks purchased in the restaurant (excluding alcoholic drinks). This promotion is in tandem with the launch of Kitagawa buffet, and according to the staff, she is not sure when will this promotion ends.
WHAT ADL SAYS:
Comparing the price of this deal ($35) to the original price of the buffet at the restaurant (shown from the above table), it is clear that other than the child lunch buffet category, this deal does entails one to savings. In fact, for maximum savings, one should go for the dinner buffet session
However, does that means that you should purchase this deal? What about the ongoing in house promotion, does it entails one to more savings?
The above table (pink column) shows the price one has to pay for the buffet should one purchase the membership card that costs $10. In our opinion, one should go for this promotion and make this membership card only if he or she is intending to patronize the restaurant regularly in the future. Of course, without knowing the quality of the food at the restaurant it will be difficult to decide if one should spend the $10 and make the membership card. Our suggestion is this… Buy this deal to try out the food at the restaurant first. If it’s good and to your liking, then proceed to make the membership card!
Other than the savings involved for this deal, we also like the variety of food available. There are over 80+ dishes! Just looking at the menu itself already makes us hungry!
There are two particular things that we do not like about this deal. Firstly, is the fact that one dish is only allowed to be ordered once. Which means only one plate of salmon shashimi! Of course, this is the nature of the restaurant’s buffet itself, and should not be really taken as a bad point for this deal. Secondly, the location of the restaurant is pretty “ulu”. The restaurant is located at Orchid Country Club, and the best way to get there via public transport, is to take a MRT to Yishun, and then hitch on the shuttle bus. Click HERE for the shuttle bus service schedule.
In conclusion, considering all our findings and analysis on this deal, we decide to give it a 3.5 star ratings

![[MEGA DEAL LEAK]! Did You Say FREE Mexican Drumlets!? FREE!?](http://alldealsleak.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/BK-Mexican-Drumlets.jpg)
wah. what kind of buffet is this?! one dish can only order one time?!?!?! so lame. even though there is savings for this deal, i still won’t buy it.
i’ve been to this restaurant. The food is really not bad. But this time round for the buffet, im not sure if they will cut cost and give food with smaller portion or lousier quality. Not to mention, there is the one dish limit (which i totally didn’t notice it)..
I think with 80 dishes, I can’t finish all of it. Been there before and the portions are really generous and filling! If 4 of us are going, we can order 4 salmon sashimi, which my dad and mum wouldn’t eat anyway, so my sis and I get to enjoy 2 plates each!
Hi Misaki,
Thanks for the comment, glad it can fill our huge stomach.

The ambience of the restaurant is cozy, though ulu and the limitation of 1 item per dish. Bus t it’s also something when you have lack of staff when there a table of 2 big groups and a few others in the restaurant. The orders were jumbled up and i waited and hr and half and ran out of patience.. because the chief is unable to handle the orders. Worst still the person who served still commented “you all got order meh?” Really quite piss off, i mean you shld be able to see my order form is not on the table… plus making people wait for that long missed the point of a buffet. Somewhat my $35 was really wasted. That night all the tables didn’t receive all of their orders, what we received was waiting time. And it was a weekday where crowd is manageable… disappointed..
