Ever wonder what it would be like to go on a yacht trip? That’s exactly what one of our ADL members thought before deciding to purchase the $390 deal! No doubt, it was the most expensive deal he has ever purchased, but was it worth it in the end? Let’s hear about the experience he had.
>>> Deal – $390 for DEAL’s First Chartered Yacht Package (4Hrs) + Captain + Skipper + BBQ & Fishing Equipment + Island Hopping + Free Flow Non-Alcoholic Drinks @ Summit Marine System <<<

Price
When I first saw this deal, I did the math and found it to be extremely worth it. As the deal was valid for up to 10 people on board, each person only had to pay $39! I went on to check out the rates for yacht charter on other websites and found them to be much more expensive. The cheapest that I managed to find was slightly above $500, but it didn’t include all these additional perks. There were many other yachts for charter that exceeded $1000. After I managed to pull a few friends along, I decided to purchase the deal as it was really affordable in my opinion.
I’ll definitely give a rating of 5 out of 5 stars for this.
Location
Well, for the location wise, we had to embark and disembark at ONE*15 Marina Club, which is in Sentosa Cove. Thankfully, I have friends who drove us in so it wasn’t so inconvenient. However, if you plan on taking the public transport, it will be quite a hassle. You’ll still need to enter via Sentosa first before making your way there. I’m not even sure if any of the shuttles can get you there. Hence, I would recommend you to take a taxi from Harbourfront instead. Upon reaching there, the skipper picked us up from 7-11 and led us to the berth area, which was relatively nearby.

Unfortunately, I’ll have to give 2 stars for this as it doesn’t seem very accessible by public transport.
Terms & Conditions
I actually purchased this on 18th September 2011, but only redeemed it on 29th January 2012. That’s approximately 3.5 months away and it wasn’t because that my friends and I were busy. I actually contacted the merchant around November to make arrangements for Decembers. However, according to them, the weekends were fully packed till 29th January 2012. I was aware that there were many people who purchased the deal, but I’m not exactly sure if they were telling the truth for this matter. Either way, I didn’t have much of a choice.
Once I heard the date, I didn’t hesitate further as I knew I might miss having the trip on the weekend if I were to delay further. Immediately, I confirmed the slot and provided the merchant with my voucher number. I even received a confirmation SMS from them. On the same week of my trip, I even emailed them to confirm the slot and they told me it was confirmed. So I was pretty shocked on the day when I called and was told that my voucher number wasn’t verified. Although they did manage to verify it after that, I still felt that it was extremely unprofessional.
The other thing that shocked me was regards to the BBQ. They actually told me that they had a BBQ package for 10pax that cost $150. We knew that we wanted to BBQ, but we didn’t find their package very attractive. So I asked them if it was possible to buy and bring our food to BBQ. I was told that I had to pay an additional $75 if I wanted to bring my own food in to BBQ. I ended up having a debate with the guy over the phone as this wasn’t stated in their terms and conditions. Eventually, he said that he “mistook” what I said. He thought I wanted to purchase a package from a different BBQ wholesaler. He mentioned that the BBQ wholesaler that they partnered with is very strict with regards to this and enforced the $75 for other wholesalers. When I told him that I was going to purchase the food from the supermarket for the BBQ, he finally told me that it’s alright and that I didn’t state that properly at first. I honestly do not understand how he mistook me.
Based on these issues, I’m rather disappointed, so 2 stars for this.
Enjoyment
I went in feeling rather disappointed already and I pretty much expected to be disappointed further. Thankfully, this was what saved them! Although the yacht wasn’t as luxurious as some of the others around, the trip was something I would consider as a once in a lifetime experience.

Firstly, I would like to give a shout out to Captain Kim Seng and his skipper (Sorry, I didn’t get your name). They were extremely friendly and helpful throughout the entire trip. They brought us around Kusu Island and St. John’s Island.

St John Island from far
As we selected the evening trip from 6pm to 10pm, we didn’t have time to island hop. Still, we stopped somewhere near St. John’s Island to soak our feet in the water, do some fishing and BBQ. Unfortunately, we didn’t bring extra clothes as we could have actually swum there! Hence, for those people who intend to go for a yacht trip in future, do bring extra clothes so that you can take a dip in the water! However, we did manage to catch a fish! It was my friend’s first time fishing and he managed to get it. The captain and skipper were extremely helpful. They taught and showed us how to use the fishing rods, helped to gut and prepare the fish, assisted us in starting the fire and even helped us to BBQ the food. Furthermore, all the BBQ stuffs were provided for. This included the charcoal, the grill, the utensils, the tongs and the plates. There was also an ample supply of drinks for everyone.

I honestly felt that this was one of my most enjoyable trips ever and it’s something that I definitely intend to do again in future!
No doubt, 5 stars for this aspect!

![[MEGA DEAL LEAK]! Did You Say FREE Mexican Drumlets!? FREE!?](http://alldealsleak.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/BK-Mexican-Drumlets.jpg)

wow! the first yacht review i have seen so far online as I am always wondering who will actually buy those yacht deals!
Thanks for sharing this and it does looks enjoyable. Would just like to ask how many of you guys went for the trip and is it very squeezy inside?
The services were damn bad and the guy claiming to be the managing director owning the company is so cocky and his attitude was so bad that we have to cancel our trip and do a refund! What a disappointing deal to purchase!
Just to add, the conversation was full of vulgarities from that guy claiming to be from Summit Marine System as the managing director. Reasons as to why we refunded was because they does not want to take our deal and they are not willing to ferry us. Actually we did a check on this company’s profile and found out that this company is doing ship building and repair by nature and ferrying services as secondary. The ownership of this company has already been transferred to another person and it is no longer that person claiming to be the managing director of Summit Marine System and yet he has the cheek to tell us that he is.
The event encountered was as such.
We bought this deal as usual thinking that it is worth the money and we can have a family gathering as well. When we purchase this deal we were pretty looking forward for the date to come. The date of purchase was around Sept to Oct period but as usual we are unable to confirm the date to go for this trip until later part.
So on the day when we called the merchant, we did some clarification on the itineraries and what are the things to prepare for ourself. As this package was only meant for 10 pax but we exceeded the group size and we thought that we are able to request to load another 2 more adults into the yacht to a total of 12 pax as we thought that among the 12 pax, 2 of them are in fact infant. Therefore, we spoke to the person on phone saying that we will top up the additional amount of money for that extra 2 pax. But the merchant told us that they are not able to add additional people into the yacht as it is stated in the law that the capacity for the number of people to be ferry in that yacht has to be strictly adhered to. So we have got no choice and the merchant suggested us to take 2 yacht instead and he offered us at a discounted price for the 2nd yacht at $450. As we couldn’t confirm the 2nd yacht with him, we told him that we will confirm it and give him a call asap. I think for a normal person, you will also do the same thing as us because we have to find another 8 more person to fill up the 2nd yacht!!
That was during the festive month of dec that we called the merchant. And many holiday are coming towards the end of the month. And finally after about 2 weeks, in Jan, we call the merchant again to confirm to have the 2nd yacht. But this time round the merchant that we spoke to told us that this offer is no longer available as the price for this yacht has gone up to $600. He told us that because we did not take up this offer that time, therefore it is no longer available! At this point in time, who would accept this excuse? And that is not the reason to tell your customer! Simply an excuse to earn money!! I tried to tell him that who can confirm the 2nd yacht immediately as we need to gather people who is interested to go first before committing to this offer, right? But his reply was simply sorry, he is not able to help as his boss told him that this offer is no longer available.
Feeling so angry and disappointed, we decided to call another person to confirm about this and we also tried to get back this offer as we are so keen and excited to go for this trip!! The person attending to us was much nicer and polite although we told her about this. But her reply to us was that the 2nd yacht with this offer is no longer with them and in order to charter this 2nd yacht, they have to borrow it from the other place and the cost will be at $600. But i told her that the other person says likewise!! Then quickly she told us that she will check with her boss and get back to me asap and she will try to give me that deal with an offered price of $450 instead. She said she will try but not confirm. At least she is helpful!!
Within 5 mins after putting down the phone, the guy that we spoke to at the initial start called us and without an explanation, he scolded us with his hokkien mix english vulgarities such as scolding of mother and many disgusting words. And the last few words was “Go and do your refund lah! We are not going to take you! Don’t think you can complaint to anyone lah! I’m the Managing Director lah hor!!” And he hang up.
Soon after, we did a refund and we decided to do a check on this company. Such a disappointment and bad encounter!!! We urge all to be more careful when taking up this deals with them.
Hi Stan,
We are sorry to hear about your unhappy experiences. Indeed it is outrageous to hear of such service quality standard and glad that you got our refund back. But we totally understand that the money gotten back could not make up for an otherwise joyious outing out on the sea.
Would just like to enquire is it the same merchant listed here:
http://www.deal.com.sg/deals/singapore/S490-off-DEAL-4-Hour-Chartered-Yacht-Package-Includes-Captain-Skipper-BBQ ?
Hope to hear from you soon!
Regards
ADL Team
Hi ADL Team,
Definitely that is the one! And the contact number of that person including the company’s name was exactly the same!
Such a bad attitude service from that company! *Sad + Disappointed*
We bought this voucher from deal.com and already redeemed it yesterday. Overall experience to us is fantastic, my kids enjoyable throughout the whole trip as well as my friends. The person in charge, Peter, we liaise with him through phone and personally found that he is very nice guy, polite and helpful in term of the short notice was given to him for our booking (only 4 days in advance, required at least 7 days prior as stated in voucher). We also met 2 very friendly, helpful and polite yacht captains. We really enjoy this 4 hours yacht trip and looking forward for the next yacht deal!!
chris, thats very big contrast to the earlier previous comment that i have seen.
i am indecisive over whether should we buy or not. because it seems boring to just go out to the sea like that…
Dear KS,
I just shared out my experience with this deal. All depend to individual decision and I don’t have any comment over others feedback. To my kids, friends and myself, we really enjoy the whole trip, thanks.
