For travel deals, there are always additional charges to take note of such as the airport taxes. We are always skeptical about such deals and the total price might cost just as much as you booking the trip on your own. For this deal, they are offering you a net price which includes all the fuel and airport taxes!

A NETT price deal to the land of smile! A place of full of shopping + food! Only $379 per pax which includes accommodation and return air ticket on Thai Airways, is it worth it? Let’s find out..

Assuming you are traveling over a period of weekend from Mar 16 (Friday) – Mar 19 (Monday). Using Comparehotel.com.sg, the different rates are as follows:

Do note that rates are subject to changes.

So for one pax, taking the cheapest price it would cost you..

$170.55 divided by 2 = $85.27

Next, let’s do a check with Thai airways for the air ticket. Taking the same traveling date from Mar 16(Friday) – Mar 19(Monday), it would cost you $368.30 per pax including all airport taxes and fuel charge.

Thus should you choose to make the booking on your own and travel by Thai airway, the total cost for the trip to Bangkok would cost you..

$85.27 + $368.30 = $453.57

WHAT ADL SAYS:

Comparing this price of $453.57 to what this deal is offering you of $379, you get to save a substantial amount of $75 in which you can use it for more shopping! Fret not about the hidden charges now. Everything is written clearly in this deal. There are some things to take note of which is the travel period. The travel validity is from 22 Feb to 30 Jun, that’s about 4 months which is sufficient in our opinion. Just take note of the blackout period on 5 Apr & 6 Apr and to make your booking by 15 Mar. Another perk about this deal is that there are no school holiday & peak season surcharge which is pretty worth it, and you can travel over the weekend to visit the Chatuchak market which is only available on weekends.

For $379, what this deal is offering you includes daily buffet breakfast at P2 Boutique Hotel, return air ticket on Thai Airways, Return Transfer: Airport-Hotel-Airport (which usually cost about S$26 to and fro) & complimentary city tour.

Do you think it’s worth it? In our opinion, we would say yes especially if you have been planning for a trip to Bangkok. Firstly, you definitely get to save money by purchasing this deal. And it’s not traveling by budget airlines but via Thai airways which is much more comfortable.

Secondly, the hotel given in this deal is pretty much near to the shopping areas which you will like to visit in Bangkok (Pratunam). It would probably take you about 10-15 minutes to reach Platinum mall (Wholesale fashion mall, a MUST visit for best shopping). Lastly, daily buffet breakfast are included in this deal and there are free wi-fi in the room for those who can’t live without internet for a day! For those who love massage, you can get to enjoy a 2 hours massage in the hotel at only $15 per person!

Bangkok is a place full of shopping, food and massage. For a NETT price of $379, do you think it’s worth it to get this deal? Do share with us your opinions about this.

Hi, I think the more accurate price would be to divide the accommodation cost by two persons to get the price of accommodation per person. Then add it to the cost of one air ticket, to find out the total price for one person. So instead of $170.55 + $368.30 = $538.85, it should be ($170.55 / 2) + $368.30, which is $453.57. So the savings per person are actually about $75. But this deal also includes airport transfers, which aren’t included in the agoda rate, so I guess it is still value for money for those who want to fly by a full-service airline.

      Hi mel,

Thanks for the clarification! We have updated the price accordingly. Yup, the airport transfer is another perk for this deal which probably saves you the hassle of looking for cab at Bangkok. :)

Thai Airways is offering their tickets at $268 (inclusive of all taxes and surcharges) when you go down to their office to make bookings (i.e. not online).

  3. m says:

we were asked to top up $50 per pax by the travel agency, as there’s no later return timing available. it’s not that value-for-money now that the savings is only about $30+ per person.

  4. m says:

we were asked to to top up $50 per pax by the tour agency, as all available return timing is 11am from BKK.
if we were to top up $50, we’ll get a return timing at 4pm.
now our savings is reduced to around $30 only, which makes us feel cheated.
