Hello readers, this is Terence again, bringing you part 2 of my daily deal tips! Hope you have enjoyed daily deal tips part 1 and found it useful! As promised, I am here to bring you part two of my daily deal tips.
What are you gonna do after you have chosen and bought a deal? You weren’t thinking about letting your coupon rot in your inbox until you remember to redeem it, were you? Of course not! Today’s deal tips will involve managing your deals, letting you keep track of deals from multiple deal sites and making sure they don’t expire before you can use them!
On the face of it, managing deals sounds easy. I mean, it’s simply a matter of keeping track of your coupons, listing down what coupons you have and indicating whether they have been redeemed, right? However, how many of you will seriously take time off to do such things? I am very sure the majority of you would rather waste the odd coupon than spend the time to properly catalog coupon details in a spreadsheet, as well as download and print the coupons such that they are ready for use. I know, I wouldn’t too.
However, managing coupons can be as easy as simply sorting them into a separate folder in your email inbox! The following guide applies to Gmail, but most email clients have similar tools to help sort your mail as well.
1) First, click the “Create a Filter” link next to the Gmail search bar.
2) Put “voucher” inside the “Has the Words” field; most coupon emails have the word “voucher” inside them.
3) Check the “Has Attachment” box, deal coupon emails all have a PDF attachment containing the actual coupon that is to be printed.
4) Go to the next step, and select “Apply Label”. Choose a label that accurately describes your deal coupons, for example “deal vouchers” or “daily deals”
NB: For better filtering, you can create separate filters for each deal site, by putting the address of the deal site in the “From:” field; for example, “groupon.sg”
You’re done! Now you can view all the coupons that you have bought in real-time, as they are sent to you!
Of course, putting your deal coupons in a separate folder simply makes it more convenient to access your coupons, without having to wade through hundreds of messages in your inbox. It still does not prevent you from forgetting about your coupons though. For this, my team and I at Dealsupermart have developed an exciting new feature called the deal wallet and organizer, where you can upload your deals into a database and set up reminders for when your deals are about to expire. We will be launching this cool feature very soon, so like us on Facebook and you’ll be the first to know when it is up!
Sometimes, despite your best efforts, it is still impossible to redeem your coupons due to various circumstances. Rather than wasting your coupons, you can make use of secondary marketplaces to sell your coupons to willing buyers! One such marketplace is in our very own Dealsupermart, but other sites exist as well. To help your coupons sell better, you can try to lower their prices by around 10 to 20%. After all, recouping some money is still better than wasting the entire price of the coupons don’t you think so?
I hope you have enjoyed the second segment of daily deal tips and find them useful! Please leave your comments below if you have tried the tips, and if you have any tip suggestions please share with us as well!
